I Started Rapping Because of Drake

Sorry for the delay, but better late than never!

The first project that I listened to by Drake was So Far Gone.  In my opinion, it was a game changer for Hip Hop music in general and it had a huge impact on my decision to become a rapper.  As a matter of fact, the first “bars” that I wrote were influenced by So Far Gone.  So you could say that Drake was the one responsible for planting that idea of becoming a well-known rapper into my mind.

I was so influenced by So Far Gone that the first “songs” that I wrote were mostly about a crush I had in High School at the time.  Heck, I still have those songs today!  As bad and cheesy as those songs were, I learned a lot about myself as I progressed towards becoming a better rapper.

So Far Gone taught me the importance of being vulnerable and doing what feels right.  Drake was getting so much buzz because he took a risk by challenging what typical Hip Hop music sounded like and he was greatly rewarded in the end.  My upcoming debut album, Loving All My Demons, was greatly influenced by these lessons.

If you’ve been following my blog recently, you may have noticed a certain theme with what influenced the making of Loving All My Demons.  In the coming weeks, I will be explaining more about what Loving All My Demons is all about.

With that said, here is the surprise you’ve been waiting for!

I was going to release a new single for my debut album next week, but I’ve decided to release my next single a week early EXCLUSIVELY to those who have been reading and following my blog.
